There is indeed an impostor syndrome lingering about when someone does not have a classic degree to back up any practical experience. I found that having a piece of paper does not make any difference at all. You can be qualified and still incompetent.

Knowing and know-how are two complete different things and the latter is much more important than any fancy certification.
